In discussing the placement of media planning (whether with ad agencies or with media services agencies) a recent Ad Age article (free subscription required) gives a great quote.
Anomaly’s new-business director, Jason DeLand, said the firm has turned down a number of clients on the basis of their media approach. “When it starts and stops with advertising, we don’t want to do it,†he said.
Novel idea.
The Casual Fridays blog is about business in blue jeans. It's about doing the REAL hard work of today. Pausing, thinking and asking the questions others won't ask.

I don’t know any inside info on Anomaly, but I’d say this statement indicates your problem. Anomaly is not a traditional agency. If you really want to work there, try a nontraditional route. Advertise yourself they way you’d do advertising for their clients.
