The Object of my Distraction

I apologize for missing Friday.

Here’s my reason:

Derek and Dustin

Last week our son was brought into this world. The rest of my life has pretty much shut down as a result. I wouldn’t have it any other way.

The family is doing great as we celebrate this new, little life.

  1. Definitely worth missing Friday. Cuteness in real life beats cuteness in a blog HANDS DOWN! Congrats to you and yours Dustin. Blessings to you from us here in Milwaukee! Looking forward to future guest posts from the baby :)

  2. Congrats! Well worth missing a few blog posts. Although I feel you may be missing a few more because of this little bundle of joy. Again well worth it.

Blessings to the child, your wife, and the family.

  3. What a great picture! It’s definitely worth more than whatever words we missed while you experienced the birth of your son. Congratulations to you and your family!!

  4. congrats & many blessings to you and your family, dustin!
pls note that your persistence about me blogging has paid off & i recently started a blog: http://www.katalystatlarge.com
when you gain some semblance of “normalcy” (which really will never happen again!), pls check it out. thanks for being a “human catalyst” for me by insisting that i share my journeys via blogging! peace…

  5. Thank you all for your warm well-wishes. The family is doing great and we’re still simply amazed at the new little life in our clan. My quiver is full, and so is my heart.

Kevin, thanks for dropping in. You’re an inspiration, my man. As far as “normalcy”… I don’t know that I’ve ever had that. Don’t know if I want it, if you know what I mean. I’m loving the unique life God has laid out for me, as it seems you are as well.

Glad to know that my promptings (as well as the promptings of those more influential, I’m sure) have encouraged you to blog. I know I’ll be reading with eager anticipation.

  6. Congrats! Your comments about how your life has shut down reminds me of a great Blue Cross ad done in Boston several years ago. It showed a new dad with his baby on his shoulders, and the headline read: You have been deposed as the ruler of your world.

Here’s hoping it’s a long and happy exile.

  7. Dustin, I’m way out of the loop, I didn’t read your blog until today (had 11 posts to catch up on!!) but was so thrilled to read this post and see the gorgeous picture of your new son — beautiful!! I love how you’re smiling at him and he almost looks to be smiling right back at you, eyes for nobody but you. An early learner! Anyway, congratulations, I am so very happy for you and your family.
