Update: Thanks to John Paul Micek’s advice, I’ve implemented some comment spam plugins. I’m no longer moderating comments.
Lots of comment spam lately. For the sanctity (literally) of my blog, I’m moderating comments for the time being. Hopefully, we’ll get this remedied soon.
Thanks for your patience.
The Casual Fridays blog is about business in blue jeans. It's about doing the REAL hard work of today. Pausing, thinking and asking the questions others won't ask.

Dustin, what plug-ins are you using the combat that? We’ve tested over a dozen different WordPress plug-ins — in combination and on their own, both on our blogs and on our blogs coaching student sites. And we have found a pair that eliminate 99.5% of all comments spam. (At least until the comment spammers figure ways around them.)
For example, by combining Askismet and Spam Karma 2 on Advanced Business Blogging we went from 50 or more spam comments requiring moderation per day, to 1 or 2 per week needing manual moderation. You can check out a complete review at How Busy Business Owners Can Stop 99% of Comment Sapm
Happy to help in any way.

John Paul,
Thanks for mentioning the plugins for WordPress. I just installed Askismet a few days ago and it has already helped tremendously. I’ll check into Spam Karma 2 as well.
Much appreciated (as we say in these here parts).
