In a previous post, I discussed how major telcos were flashing their swords pertaining to the neutrality of the net.
Based on this NPR story, the threat appears to be working.
Not to be a Chicken Little, but this is starting to get scary.

Via Doc Searls, I found Networkcompetition.org. This must be tongue-in-cheek, because no one would state this as the telecom giants’ position and expect to be taken seriously:
Moreover, they question how a law that specifically limits innovation and differentiation by the over 2,000 broadband telecom, cable, and wireless companies in the U.S. — to encourage innovation for companies at the edge of the network – is overall pro-innovation.
It begs the question, since when have the telcos been interested in encouraging innovation at the EDGE? Isn’t that exactly what a neutral net would do?
That’s not what this is about. It’s about the telecom giants regaining their command and control platform. It’s about dulling the edge of the Net, not sharpening it.
