Unlearning How To Be More Creative
Last week, I had the opportunity to present an “Unlearning.” Unlearnings are online sessions where speakers challenge typical thinking and understanding in order to help others unlearn and old way of thinking in order to learn something new. The presentations are hosted by Think Infinite Games, a group of leaders who are tackling huge issues with a tremendous amount of talent, intelligence and generosity. Their current project is to help patients have a voice, be engaged, and create a more transparent healthcare system that meets the needs of the people.
If you’re interested in future Unlearnings, you can subscribe to information here. A summary of my presentation is below. I hope you enjoy it.
Shaping Your Space for Creativity
What do a cathedral, a grocery store and Britain’s Parliament Building have in common? They are intentionally designed to create a specific response from the people inside. When you need to be your best, creative self, what kind of response does your workspace create in you? In this Unlearning, I will clear up common misperceptions of creativity and share how it impacts all of our work. You’ll learn how different attributes of physical space can be used depending on which stage of the creative process you are in. Whether you work in an office building or at home, I will give you helpful ideas about how you can reshape your space to enhance your creativity and be more innovative at work.
