The story of the Garden of Eden focuses on deception. A serpent tricks Eve into eating the forbidden fruit. In turn, Eve tricks Adam into also eating it. Each of them were told they would become something greater by eating the fruit.
The real criminal isn’t the serpent. It’s us.
We don’t believe we are enough.
We believe we need something outside ourselves to reassure us.
- More knowledge
- A certification or degree
- Being picked (for a job, relationship, project, etc.)
- A map or recipe
- The blessing of authority
What if that’s not true?
What if you have enough to do that thing you want to do? The thing that scares you.
You can take that leap today or you can keep eating forbidden fruit.
Just don’t blame the serpent.
